Dean Street Society

Dean Street Society began in 2011 with personal styling clients. When I realized the same foundational style and mindset teaching applied to all my unique clients, I created a course and community to help more women, more affordably.

Soon half the inquiries I received were about starting a business, inspiring teachings on entrepreneurship that grew swiftly. As a result of the success I struggled with overwhelm, and a core teaching focus became how to cultivate more peace not only in our beauty but all aspects of life, inspiring future products and a podcast.

For 12+ years I was honored to foster one of the kindest communities on the internet with over a million students diverse in age, religion, life circumstances. Together we grew, healed, and succeeded in ways that brought us deep joy and meaning.

In 2023, halfway through a pregnancy with our first baby and on the eve of leaving NYC after 20 years, it became clear quite suddenly that the business wasn’t sustainable on its current path, and there wasn’t time left for a pivot before maternity leave and during a newborn season.

Closing the business came as a surreal shock, followed by wild peace. A beautiful impact including on my own growth, a beautiful community I treasure, a beautiful chapter that allowed for a beautiful child after a long fertility journey.

What a success. What a gift that we found each other.

I don’t know what my next chapter is, but it will be truly special if we see each other there. Until then, I’m discovering who we are when almost everything changes, and taking notes…
