It contains a large amount of paracetamol (acetaminophen) and a small amount of hydrocodone.

Given that House is an addict who is chasing pain relief and the high, he would have to increase the dose as he developed a tolerance. Of course, he wouldn't build up a tolerance to the paracetamol and risk severe liver damage or death.
