Aug 1, 2016 at 20:10 comment added zim Not all the music in the show was recorded by 1983. The Bangles' cover of Hazy Shade of Winter was released in 1985. Though the Clash song in question was released by 1983 (it was 1982), we also don't know (or I missed it) when Joyce's husband took off. If that was more than 2 years prior, then we again have the use of an anachronistic song. I don't think the show creators intended anything by this use, but I mention it in case someone thinks it is important.
