Christophe MOY – professor

I have been a Professor with Université de Rennes 1 since September 2017. Previously, I used to be a Professor with CentraleSupélec, Rennes campus.

I am in charge of the Master EEA of ISTIC, the Master in electronics of the University of Rennes 1.

In Master 2, I am head of the Embedded Systems (SE) sylabus, where students learn about hardware and software embedded electronics under severe constraints (flexibility, consumption, security, real time, etc.).

I am teaching with ISTIC, in Electronics for “Computer Sciences and Electronics” department of Université de Rennes 1 (UFR d’Informatique et d’Electronique), at the following levels :
– Year1-2-3 (L1, L2 and L3) of Licence in Electronics (undergraduate)
– Second Year (M2) of Master in Electronics, in specialties: Embedded Systems (SE – Systèmes Embarqués) and Communicating Systems (SC – Systèmes Communicants)

My research is done in IETR (Institut d’Electronique et Télécommunications de Rennes) laboratoty of CNRS (UMR 6164), in ASIC research team (Architectures, Systems, Infrastructure and electroniCs), previously SCEE team.

My main intrests concern digital embedded electronics architectures and intensive processing architectures (parallel computing, HW-SW co-design, System-on-Chip SoC, Network-on-Chip NoC). Application domains mainly are wireless communications (radio) and their recent evolution, such as cognitive radio and software radio. In particular, my research investigate artificial intelligence (AI) for embedded ultra-low complexity systems, applied to Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) and opportunistic spectrum access (OSA). My research a validated through PoC (Proof-of-Concept) on SDR platforms (Software Defined Radio) such as USRP (Ettus – NI), RTL-SDR USB keys, Arduino LoRa and SigFox shields or others, and such as GNU Radio Companion (GRC) environment.

All these technological bricks (electronics and radio) are key elements for intelligent systems such as smart-grid, smart city, smart home, e-Health, smart factory, Intelligent Transport Systems, autonomous vehicles, etc. in particular through Internet of Things.
