Windows 11 2022 gets an update, adds taskbar, MSA improvements – onmsft.com

Microsoft has been busy the last few weeks polishing Windows 11 2022.  Earlier this month Microsoft released this month’s optional update for both Windows 11 and Windows 11 2022,  and the first “moment” update that featured the long-awaited tabs feature in File Explorer. Yesterday, OS Build 22621.755 was released highlighting a few more tweaks to the taskbar and more Microsoft Account enhancements.

Along with polishing the search visuals on the taskbar, you can also now right-click the taskbar to display a context menu to access the Task Manager.  Easier access to the Task Manager had been a highly requested feature.  There’s also been a few tweaks to the Microsoft Account settings, you’ll now be able to see your OneDrive settings and any storage alerts.  If you use your Microsoft Account for backups, you’ll also notice some visual enhancements.  While Microsoft has offered these enhancements the issue discovered a few weeks ago when that causes systems to slow down when copying multi-gigabyte files to Windows 11 2022 machines hasn’t been addressed yet.

If you’d like to see all the technical details in this update you can see those here.  When your system is ready for the update you can find it in Windows Update under Optional Updates Available.
