If God could contradict himself, you would have to admit that the principle of non-contradiction ("that something cannot both be and not be") is false, and we could no longer have a rational discussion. Just because He may seem to contradict Himself from our perspective, doesn't imply He in Himself contradicts Himself.

And this is clearly visible in humans who are the reflection of gods. This reflection idea is agreed upon in every religion and conception of god.
