@immibis It gives me a bit more hope since it shows that even with both sides being completely up their own asses these days, Realpolitik isn't completely dead yet.

@immibis: I think Trump is more interventionist than traditional conservatives, although he phrases such interventions/pressure as "cutting a deal" etc. reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-carrier/… Some left-of-centre press has even claimed that Trump is more intervnetionist than many of his predecessors independent.co.uk/voices/… YMMV on that, of course.
