Mar 15, 2021 at 14:52 comment added what number you wanted I would normally edit a q like this; e.g. the title should probably be "What are the political implications of cancel culture?" (to match the last line), but the tile q has already received lots of answers, and I don't want to invalidate them with that kind of edit... which should have been done much earlier, but hey, I have a life outside SX, as hard as that mays seem to believe...
Mar 15, 2021 at 14:46 comment added what number you wanted Frankly it's unclear to me what you're asking. The title question is obviously self-answered by the quote you gave. Your last sentence--stating that you're confused-- doesn't explain what you're confused about, so (nor) how could answers help with your unclear confusion. If you want an enumeration of the the implications of "cancel culture" that seems a tad broad (and possibly opinion-based to a good extent) and it's actually not what your title question is asking. So, not surprisingly, answers to your q are all over the place. VTC.
Mar 15, 2021 at 14:29 comment added Philipp @Noah We still try to avoid political discussions on this website and focus on explaining facts about politics and political processes in an objective, neutral and unbiased manner. A good explanation of the mission statement of this community can be found in the help center article what topics can I ask about here.

Mar 15, 2021 at 13:43 comment added NotThatGuy The part you've quoted actually just defines the term "cancel". "Cancel culture" refers to its prevalence and part in our society, and the Wikipedia article you linked to does address some of the implications of that.

Mar 14, 2021 at 21:41 comment added Philipp One possible explanation for the downvotes on this question is that this community generally dislikes questions they know will lead to lots of heated arguments and debates.
