Most sources of temporary HP are either a sizable one-time pool, or a handful that refreshes every turn (as in Heroism). A massive pool that refreshes every turn is unheard of and ridiculously powerful to the point of broken -- so much so that it's obvious this isn't meant to be even remotely balanced. It's pretty clear they intend that to act as effective immunity to the lich. | |
