  • \$\begingroup\$ Further muddying the waters, as you say, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything changes the racial rules so you can swap around ability scores (among other traits). I also recall hearing that Wizards of the Coast is removing things like racial alignments, but don't have a source for that assertion. \$\endgroup\$ Commented Jan 11, 2022 at 17:17
