"Fitzempress' Law" is almost certainly the correct book, although its publication date is later than I thought, and I think I had wrongly remembered two incidents that happened to Pete as having happened to different people. I will be able to confirm when the copy which I have bought on eBay arrives. The fairly steep price was worth it to find again a book I have remembered for so long! | |
