About

"Question to 42" is taken from "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. This joke fits to many of the Q/A puzzles here.

In his book the number 42 is the "answer to the meaning of life, the universe, and everything" - calculated by a very big computer over a very very long time.

If you scroll through the latter, you find that 42 is a puzzle that can even be solved with 6 by 9, that there is a game for it, and many jokes, and that even the ASCII table can be linked to it very well.

I also tried to find out whether I can say "Question to X (the answer)" when I know the "Answer to Y (the question)". Chatbot:

Can you say "Answer to Y"? Yes! That’s actually very common and correct: "The answer to your question" is standard English. So "Answer to Y" (where Y is the question) is perfectly fine and idiomatic. How to justify your nickname "question-to-x": You can argue that: It mirrors the natural phrase "answer to a question", so by analogy, "question to X" makes sense. It’s short, clear, and works well as a handle or label, even if it’s not the most common phrasing.

This big question can only be topped by "The last question" by Isaac Asimov.
