Fifteen years as a web developer and ten as a web performance consultant let me talk about accessible, fast websites with both developers and decision-makers: what it takes to build them, and what they are worth.

I’ve optimized web technologies from the moment they shipped, always obsessing over one thing: how fast a page feels to the person actually using it. And no era comes close to how exciting this one is.

The problem I am working on now: getting the same quality out of AI tools that a senior developer builds by hand — accessible, fast, and running in every browser. Hundreds of hours in, I am a little further along than most, and still experimenting and getting better at it every day. YouTube shows you the demos; I show you the honest version, what worked and what did not.

I build that way for a living, too. At Speed Kit I create AI agents that automate web performance testing, and the data tools that tie what they measure to business outcomes — production systems, not weekend prototypes, and the reason I can put a number on speed as readily as I can explain it.

I’m a Google Developer Expert for Web, and I speak regularly at DevFests and other GDG events across Europe and North Africa. Generous people taught me this craft, and passing it on is a pleasure. You’ll find me talking with attendees before the talk, after it — and usually until someone locks the venue.

Agentic Coding, End to End: Plan, Build, Ship, and Keep Going

A 4-hour hands-on workshop for anyone new to agentic coding — working developers curious about the shift, career-starters, bootcamp grads, students, and career-switchers alike. Attendees run the full pipeline themselves — spec → design → build → deploy — using the production Google toolchain (Antigravity, Gemini Gems, Stitch, Cloud Run). They leave with a working, deployed site of their own and a real mental model of how to drive an AI agent end to end.

What sets this apart: most workshops end at the door. This one doesn't. Every attendee gets ongoing access to a living online student guide — with deeper chapters on prompting, memory, recovery, and spec-driven workflows — plus a Discord community of past attendees and instructors to keep building, asking, and shipping after the room empties.

Nobody needs a laptop and nobody needs to have used an AI tool before. The point is to leave knowing what the toolchain is, what each part of it is good for, and how the pieces fit into a workflow you can start on Monday.

The honest half matters as much as the demo: these tools will produce an excellent page or a shockingly bad one, and the difference is knowing what good looks like. So the talk covers the checks too — the ones that keep a generated page accessible, fast and working in every browser — and what did not work, from hundreds of hours of building with them.
