What does it mean for table X to be a sub-collection of the other tables? I've never heard of a table being a collection or a sub-collection of any other. Does X have columns of its own besides the FKs? Also an ER digram would help.Tulains Córdova– Tulains Córdova2017-07-14 20:14:17 +00:00Commented Jul 14, 2017 at 20:14

@TulainsCórdova "subcollections" here does not refer to tables themselves, but to entities stored in them., i.e. entities in X can be members of collections of types A, B, C.scriptin– scriptin2017-07-14 20:21:57 +00:00Commented Jul 14, 2017 at 20:21

@TulainsCórdova I mean that each entity a in A has a list of entities in X. For example, A could represent people and X could represent pets. Each person could have an indeterminate number of pets.gardenhead– gardenhead2017-07-15 01:39:10 +00:00Commented Jul 15, 2017 at 1:39

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. design-patterns), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
