1@Dennis so the table you are joining on or grabbing data from doesn't matter, only the table you INSERT INTO? I definitely just tried this and it is much faster WOW thanksPainIsAMaster– PainIsAMaster2021-10-09 10:03:18 +00:00Commented Oct 9, 2021 at 10:03

4You don't have to drop the primary key, as there is another solution: partitions. If you will create partitioned table, in that case you will have smaller indexes per partition, and because of that insertion speed will be high. Also it simplifies and speed up the deletion of the old data.Sergey Kuznetsov– Sergey Kuznetsov2023-07-18 21:24:59 +00:00Commented Jul 18, 2023 at 21:24

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. python-3.x), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
