Patrick answered the question wellWell, though they could have written IE9Internet Explorer 9 to work on Windows XP. Part of the reason is to move people away from Windows XP, but it'sthat's not JUST marketing, Windows XP really is outdated and full of security flaws. It's in everyone's best interest to ditch it, not just MSMicrosoft and hardware vendors. For example: http://www.informationweek.com/news/security/vulnerabilities/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=229301021&cid=nl_IW_daily_2011-03-16_html, this flaw may be in Flash but it effects Windows XP not Windows 7..
What you gave was false information; bugs aren't just made-up stories, they are real-life scenarios which are discovered, tested, written about, discussed and patched. If you write fake information, this wouldn't go unnoticed by those testing and discussing the bug. Study UAC/ASLR/DEP/KPP. ;)
