NDBA declares junior district squad for Maharashtra Badminton Championship

The Nagpur District Badminton Association (NDBA) has announced the district team for the Maharashtra Junior (U-17 and U-19) Inter-District and State Badminton Championship slated to be held at the Dadaji Kondadev Stadium in Thane from September 4 to 9.

NAGPUR: The Nagpur District Badminton Association (NDBA) has announced the district team for the Maharashtra Junior (U-17 and U-19) Inter-District and State Badminton Championship slated to be held at the Dadaji Kondadev Stadiumin Thane from September 4 to 9.
Both the U-17 and U-19 mixed district teams have ten members each including five girls. The selected team members had three days of conditioning camp at the Subhedar Hall prior to their departure for the annual tourney under the supervision of coach Anant Apte.

The mixed team championship will begin on Tuesday.
Except for Rohan Gurbani all the player attended the camp. Rohan, who is training at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy in Bengaluru, will directly join the team at Thane on Monday.
The team left for Thane by Sewagram Express on Sunday after meeting with NDBA president Kunda Vijaykar. NDBA secretary Mangesh Kashikar, NDBA vice-president Shriram Purohit and member Bhavna Agrey were present on the occasion.
Nagpur district had won the U-17 team championship last year held at the Divisional Sports Complex, Mankapur in July.
But in the U-19 category, Nagpur district was shocked by Mumbai Suburban 2-3 in the final.

U-17: Rohan Gurbani, Sifat Arora, Jaskaran Suri, Ayush Jadhav, Devika Kawale, Livia Fernandez, Chaitali Nayse, Shimpli Wasnik, Ananya Durugkar.
U-19: Rohan Gurbani, Gaurav Mithe, Gandhar Nawale, Nabeel Ahmed, Hriday Deshmukh, Malvika Bansod, Rashi Lambe, Rutura Joshi, Sanika Durugkar, Livia Fernandez.
