  • Earlier this month, Microsoft issued its largest monthly security update on record, addressing nearly 1,000 vulnerabilities. It’s a reminder that investing in technology isn’t a one-off decision. As organisations adopt new technologies and accelerate digital transformation, they also need to keep pace with the security, maintenance and governance that come with them. Our latest global research, The mid-market maze, found that technology and digital transformation is a key investment priority for 60% of mid-market businesses, rising to 66% among high-growth organisations. Yet only 51% are prioritising cyber security. Find out how we can help you think beyond simply adopting technology to building the capability to secure, manage and evolve it for the long term: https://bit.ly/4AD30b6

  • Tariffs are back in the headlines. But the bigger story is the business cost of policy whiplash: disrupted supply chains, delayed investment and implications on planning cycles. Our latest global research report among 1,500 business leaders found that 43% struggle to plan long term because of shifting regulation and tax policy, while 35% have delayed or cancelled major investments. 58% believe they can adapt quickly. But agility is no substitute for predictability. Businesses can navigate change, but constant reversals make it harder to invest, grow and plan with confidence. Read our latest global research report to discover the leadership qualities mid-market businesses will need to protect growth and stay competitive in the decade ahead: https://bit.ly/4rqMYwO

  • Energy volatility is becoming a growth issue, not just a cost issue. Reuters reported last week that global energy market shock absorbers are weakening, with senior industry executives warning of a prolonged period of tight supply and price volatility driven by the ongoing disruption in the Middle East. For mid-market businesses, this matters beyond the next energy bill. Our global research, The mid-market maze, found that high energy costs and energy shortages are already the fourth biggest barrier preventing organisations from reaching their potential. And 40% of mid-market leaders expect raw materials and components to become more restricted by 2035. So, how can firms navigate the decade ahead and build the resilience needed to keep growing through greater uncertainty? • Our Leaders of Today programme took place in Kuala Lumpur this week. With 31 delegates from 9 countries across our global network, the two-day programme is designed for experienced partners — those with over five years in the role — with a strong focus on clients and the expectations of senior leadership in today's and tomorrow's professional services firms. It was a valuable opportunity for partners to connect, learn from each other and build international networks. Safe travels home to everyone. #LeadWithAmbition

Real estate and construction has for decades been shaped by long horizons. Projects take years to plan, fund and deliver, and success has traditionally depended on discipline, patience and careful risk management. But the decade ahead is likely to require something different: speed. Demand is shifting, supply chains are becoming more fragmented, capital is more contested and competition for specialist skills is intensifying. In a market that is changing faster than ever, the ability to make confident decisions quickly could become one of the sector's greatest competitive advantages Yet our global study, The mid-market maze, suggests many real estate and construction firms may be struggling to keep pace: https://bit.ly/4qovTDp

  • Is Europe sleepwalking into economic decline? There's no single crisis moment to point to. Growth forecasts sit at just 1.1% for 2026 and 1.4% for 2027, and the productivity gap with the US keeps widening. Decline like this rarely announces itself. It happens quietly, in the numbers most people aren't watching. In this insight, JOE NELLIS sets out where the risk really lies, and why the outcome isn't decided yet: https://bit.ly/4gEVvsi

  • Our Leaders of Tomorrow programme concludes today in Budapest. With 24 delegates from 9 countries across our global network, it's designed to empower the next generation of Baker Tilly leaders, focusing on: ▪️ Emotional intelligence ▪️ Communication styles ▪️ Navigating diverse cultures to build long-lasting relationships Safe travels to everyone, and welcome to the delegates attending the Audit Leaders of Tomorrow starting this afternoon. #LeadersOfTomorrow
