    I sat down with Kristian James a few weeks ago to discuss the thinking behind Wave1 and some of the broader context about where People leaders find themselves at this point in time. The HR Tech Renewal Trap - How do I know I'm in it? TLDR; → You have a sprawling HR tech stack, but no clear idea of the actual ROI for each individual tool. → The Trap: Assessing systems in a vacuum just because a contract is ending rather than evaluating your entire tech landscape holistically. → The Fix: Stop letting expiration dates drive your strategy. Step back, define what great looks like for your company, and build a 3-to-5-year roadmap to get there. Sorry if triggering for any HRIS pros out there who have lived this reality! 😅

    I’m pleased to announce the launch of Wave1; an on-demand People Tech team helping companies deploy, integrate and automate the HR tools they need to scale 🚀 Hawkwood has developed Wave1 as a JV with Andy Turnbull; departing Global Head of People Services at Bolt. During Andy’s time at Bolt, he has supported their growth from 1000 to 4000+, across 50 countries. This experience, coupled with his prior career leading HR Transformation for Workday Customers, makes him the ideal partner to build this venture. Andy, along with our trusted team of HR Tech specialists, will be delivering the work, with Hawkwood providing operational and growth support.     I’m delighted to be running a Global Director of Talent search in New York, with one of the fastest-moving fintech scale-ups in the market. 🇺🇸 This business has scaled rapidly to ~400 employees and is now investing meaningfully in its Talent function as it enters its next phase of growth. With continued global expansion and increasing technical ambition, they are focused on attracting and retaining some of the most sought-after talent in the market. The role sits at the heart of the business, reporting directly to the COO and partnering closely with the executive team. You’ll own global talent and workforce strategy, lead a talent team, and evolve the talent infrastructure to support growth to ~600 employees over the next 18 months.
