Kicking off the next chapter with Hachette UK Distribution At TGW Logistics, we believe that successful retrofits start with close collaboration. Understanding our customers’ goals, challenges, and long-term vision is key to developing tailored, future-fit solutions that maximise existing investments. That’s why Thomas Leblhuber, Director of Retrofit Sales & Solutions Northern Europe, recently visited Hachette UK Distribution together with Wayne Fullbrook and Tom Herbert. Together with Jo Westbrook, Managing Director at Hachette and Marc Travers, Director of Operations at Hachette, we explored potential next steps to further optimise the system – from process improvements and flow performance to new technologies and possible areas for extension. Over the coming weeks, our teams will work closely together to investigate and develop concepts that support Hachette’s continued growth. Collaboration is the key to future-fit solutions – and we’re proud to be a trusted partner on this journey. 🤝Thank you, Hachette UK Distribution, for your time and continued collaboration!

From Sweden to the UK: Growing the TGW Northern Europe Team It was a real pleasure to visit some of our valued customers VF, URBN and LKQ-ECP, together with our new colleagues James and Milissa. As part of their onboarding journey, these site visits play a key role in learning more about TGW Logistics in action and the value we deliver to our partners every day. Milissa Kullberg joins us as a Solution Designer based in Gothenburg Sweden, and James Percival has come on board as Business Development Manager for the UK. We're excited to have them on the team and grateful for their commitment to driving growth and visibility across Northern Europe. Want to meet the team? Come see us at IMHX at the NEC Birmingham, 9–11 September, a great chance to connect face-to-face. #TGWGrowingTogether

Futureproofing Warehouses: The Strategic Role of Retrofit In a fast-moving logistics world shaped by rapid innovation, labour shortages and evolving business models, more and more companies are asking: How do we prepare our existing sites for the future? For Thomas Leblhuber, Director of Retrofit Sales & Solutions at TGW Northern Europe, the answer starts with mindset: “I’m not a big fan of the word retrofit – it often sounds like replacing old kit. What we really do is modernise and expand. That’s why I prefer the term futurefit.” At TGW Logistics, we help customers adapt to new business processes, extend the life of their systems and minimise downtime - all while keeping operations running. Whether it's integrating new tech with legacy equipment or planning step-by-step upgrades to meet future demands, every solution is tailored to the customer’s real needs. 💡When does a futurefit approach makes sense? It could be when: • Your site can no longer meet operational demands • Business processes shift • Equipment is reaching end-of-life • You want to scale without starting from scratch Because sometimes, the smartest move isn’t building something new - it’s unlocking the full potential of what’s already there. 👉 Let’s talk if you’re thinking ahead. 🔗 Learn more: www.tgw-group.com 📰 Discover Thomas’s full perspective on futurefitting in the Logistics Matters interview https://lnkd.in/eMjHk666

Automation at work! Great to see how automation solutions are supporting LKQ Netherlands in optimising their warehouse operations. Thanks to Lucien A.M. End of an Era, A New Chapter Begins This weekend, we officially shut down the last database and WMS servers behind our Modula automated VLM storage systems, that have reliably fulfilled millions of orders over the past 27 years, running seamlessly across all shifts for van heck&co, AP-Logistics, Sator, VHIP, Fource and LKQ. Back in 1997, we accepted a bold challenge: Integrate Modula VLM into the logistics process with two main goals: 1. Reduce required floorspace by 80%, expanding the stock range in an already full warehouse. 2. Create a reliable automated solution for logistics that allows a "one touch" operation, minimizing office intervention from sales and finance. By 1998, the first 3 Modula VLMs were up and running and fully integrated in less than a month as requested by the board. By 2017, we had scaled up to 54 units in 7 groups, some running non-stop for over 25 years. The systems delivered beyond expectations, saving space, increasing speed, minimal downtime, ensuring storage capacity and product availability. As part of our centralized distribution center (CDC) evolution, it was time for a new "single technology solution" material handling design, from the wall to wall solution supplier TGW. Before we move forward, lets take a moment to honor the journey. A BIG thank you to the people working with these machines for years, Modula, ICT team, sponsors, and everyone who made this success possible.👏👏👏 Congratulations on 27 years of great effort, the journey ahead is sure to be exciting. #Automation #SupplyChain #WarehouseManagement #Innovation #Modula #TGW #Logistics #DigitalTransformation #OperationsExcellence #LKQ
