Boots UK owner Sycamore Partners is in advanced talks over a sale to Canada’s Weston family worth around $9 billion (£7 billion), according to reports by the Financial Times. The negotiations are ongoing and no final decision has been made yet, although the proposed deal could be reached within the coming weeks, according to reports. Retail businesses faced an effective tax rate of 71.5% in 2025/26, the highest of the 11 sectors analysed by the British Retail Consortium, as the trade body warned that rising business taxes are putting pressure on jobs, investment and prices. Korean dermocosmetic brand Aestura has expanded its UK distribution with a launch in Boots UK stores and online, a year after entering the market through Sephora. The brand launched at Boots on 28 September, bringing its Atobarrier collection to the retailer alongside the UK debut of its Atobarrier Capsule Toner. Boots is stocking Aestura’s complete Atobarrier range, which focuses on skin barrier care.
