“Anything can be interesting if you ask the right questions.” Even the most complex B2B business has a story worth hearing. For Amy Messano, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Thomson Reuters, good storytelling means bringing those people, and the purpose behind their work, to life. What do they believe in? Why does their work matter? And how do you help others see it? It also takes an environment where people have the support to experiment, make mistakes and find a better way to tell the story. In the latest podcast episode, Amy joins Alastair Hussain to explore how she’s made complex technology understandable throughout her career, and why listening is essential to getting it right. AI can make paid media faster, smarter and more efficient. It can also help you produce highly efficient mediocrity. The difference comes down to how it’s used. In this blog I explore where AI genuinely improves paid media, where it introduces risk, and the guardrails B2B marketers need to keep strategy, brand and commercial outcomes on track. Because AI can optimise towards a goal. Human judgement still decides whether it’s the right one. Read the full article 👇 tmp

“But how do we know marketing actually caused that?” It’s the question every B2B marketer knows is coming, and the honest answer is rarely simple. We explored a more credible way to measure ABM for a global cybersecurity client: compare similar accounts inside and outside the programme, using their past performance as a baseline. The ABM accounts generated stronger commercial results, including pipeline and bookings. The longer they’d been in the programme, the stronger their results. Does that prove marketing caused every additional pound of pipeline? No. But it gives the business credible evidence that the programme is contributing to commercial performance, and the confidence to decide what to invest in next. Read our latest Inside the Work article, where Nick Blake shares the approach, and four lessons for anyone trying to prove the value of ABM. 👇

When Eloise Silkstone-Abbey recently got me involved in tmp's Inside the Work series, I'll admit it felt a bit uncomfortable. I'm much more of a LinkedIn lurker than a LinkedIn poster. But I've embraced it. So here are a few thoughts on why we should spend less time trying to attribute every interaction, and more time asking the question that actually matters; Are the accounts in our campaign performing better?

Are we putting enough emotion into B2B creative, or still playing it safe? New tools and technology are making it easier to produce more, faster. But filling a feed doesn’t mean you’re making an impact. People still need a reason to stop. To care. To remember your brand when it matters. That’s where emotion comes in. In our latest Media Shorts video, Dylan Bogg, talks about why emotion still matters in B2B creative, and the brands brave enough to make people feel something, will be the ones that stand out. Because the ability to create more means very little if none of it connects. Watch the full conversation here: https://okt.to/9HVGmw

The biggest challenge with ABM at scale? Scaling the activity without scaling away the relevance. AWS took a different approach, starting from a blank sheet of paper and asking: what would it take to deliver a genuinely tailored ABM experience across a vast enterprise account base? At The Global ABM Conference 2026, Alice Warren from tmp and Samara Donald from Amazon Web Services (AWS) will unpack how AWS: • Built a global ABM practice with 200+ practitioners in just six months • Uses AI, agents and enablement to increase capacity without removing human judgement • Delivers one-to-few ABM at scale, without defaulting to one-to-many • Rethought the skills and processes needed for modern ABM leadership • Created the foundations needed to scale before rolling the programme out globally Early Bird ends this Friday. She shares the operating model behind sustained growth, the detail that makes onboarding work, and what she would tell any leader building a growth function from the ground up

What does it really mean to target a buying group? It starts with understanding who is involved in the decision, when they enter the conversation, and what motivates each person. Only then can marketers translate that insight into the right campaigns, channels and messaging, ensuring every buying persona receives what they need before the final decision is made. Kellie Felsten and I explore the added complexity of planning media around the whole buying group, as well as talking more broadly about shifting from MQL's to buying groups.
