When was the last time you had a great conversation with one of your closest mates? Not a like on their most recent post. Not a comment on the group chat. An actual conversation. 5 years ago, my answer to that question would have been pretty embarrassing. I told myself that this was a necessary sacrifice. The price I had to pay to create a more meaningful, fulfilling life. 5 years on, I see one thing I got wrong and two things I have learnt when it comes to old friendships in the context of creating a more meaningful life. I posted on Instagram this week about a whole bunch of firsts we’d had this year at Wildest Dream. First workshop, first community event, first guest speaker. It was all very exciting, but it became truly rewarding once we’d done our second and third iterations of these. We have a community event coming up this Saturday with two people joining who are on their 7th and 8th events - and the level of connection we feel with them is incredibly rewarding. A different emotion, but arguably one more powerful than first time excitement. I'd say it's a whole mix of fulfilment, purpose, meaning. Whatever we call it, I can't wait for events 9 and 10 in the next two weeks!! There are a two tickets left - DM me or Patrick if you’d like to join.
