Alan Morton shared thisIts great to reconnect with old friends who you know share your thoughts and values Roxanna Marazzi drops some great nuggets of wisdom based on her extensive experience across sales, leadership and enablement. Well worth a listen across the series of 3 upcoming podcast drops.Alan Morton shared thisEnablement should be connected to pipeline progression, conversion, manager readiness, and revenue performance. Our latest guest on the Growth Workshop, Roxanna Marazzi of RM Consultancy by Roxanna explains how enablement should be used to identify performance gaps, capability gaps, role alignment issues, and blockers. Before asking for another programme, ask: ➡️ What performance gap are we solving? ➡️ Which metric should move? ➡️ Is this a team issue, a manager issue or a role alignment issue? ➡️ What happens commercially if we do nothing? Our next episode is out now: https://lnkd.in/eWaT-rRT Matt Best Alan Morton Jonny Adams Celine Grey

Alan Morton shared thisGreat thoughts from Jason Walkingshaw. Always fun to spend time in a fresh context. Blended learning programmes has long been recognised as a fundamental part of commercial transformation as we look to build capabilities. We so often hear real impact comes when these assetts are tailored to the client context vs generic assetts that may be efficient but arent necessarily effective.Alan Morton shared this🎬 From slide decks to studio lights Last week, we swapped workshops and calls for something a little different — a film studio. All in support of a client’s transformation programme. It’s not typical delivery work, but it sparked a few reflections worth sharing: 1️⃣ Clarity gets tested when the camera is on Filming forces you to simplify. You can’t hide behind dense slides or well-worn jargon — you have to explain things clearly, in a way people actually understand. That discipline is powerful. Because in transformation, if people don’t get it, it doesn’t land — no matter how well designed the programme is. 2️⃣ Digital amplifies human interaction The goal wasn’t to replace workshops or coaching — it was to strengthen them. Short, targeted digital assets help: reinforce key messages, reach people who couldn’t attend, provide support on demand In transformation, repetition drives adoption. Digital content helps those messages stick between the key human moments. 3️⃣ Step outside the day job Recording in a studio isn’t something most of us expect to do. And that’s exactly why it mattered. Stepping outside the usual creates energy, sparks creativity, and brings a different dynamic to the work. It was genuinely fun — and that shows in the final output. A good reminder that transformation doesn’t always happen in the places (or formats) we expect. Final thought: Sometimes, to make change land, you have to change how you deliver it. Well done Alan Morton Dannii Mathers Issy Philpot (née Chappel) Dan Jackson Jonny Adams Katia Sand

Alan Morton shared thisAs ever enjoyed collaborating with The Consultancy Growth Network and contributing some thoughts on sales leadership in a consultancy context Ellen Price Stuart Lotherington Jonny Adams Josef Dvorak what else would you add?Alan Morton shared thisGrowth in boutique consultancies usually hits a ceiling for the same reason... The founder(s) are still the ones driving most new business, shaping the narrative, opening key conversations and keeping momentum up. It works, until delivery ramps up, sales activity drops and growth becomes harder to sustain. Our latest article, with insights from Marc Jantzen and SBR Consulting's Alan Morton looks at how to make growth less dependent on one person and more consistent across the firm. It covers 5 practical shifts, including how to: - give the team a clearer commercial narrative - build stronger sales habits across the business - use conversion ratios to plan more confidently - make client growth and new business less reactive. If growth still relies too heavily on you, the founder, this is worth reading 👇 https://lnkd.in/eHk-BRcT Luke Badiali | George Berrington | Bianca M. | James Hurman | Dorota Rubazewicz | Alison El Moghraby | Oli HoadeSales leadership in founder-led consultancies: making growth less dependent on you | The Consultancy Growth NetworkSales leadership in founder-led consultancies: making growth less dependent on you | The Consultancy Growth Network

Alan Morton shared thisFabulous to see ongoing collaboration with FullcastAlan Morton shared thisThis morning SBR & Fullcast co-hosted a breakfast looking at the GTM performance across the PE landscape. Last year, more than 60% of B2B sellers in PE‑backed businesses missed quota, and deal cycles continued to stretch. Operating Partners are being asked to intervene earlier, more decisively, and with sharper data. Some of the insights shared this morning 📈 What the leading PE firms are doing differently. 📈 New insights from the 2026 GTM Benchmark Report. 📈 Why PE‑backed GTM teams struggle to execute – and what to do about it. 📈 How revenue insights and GTM capability work together. Thanks to Dev Rubin & Guy Rubin for co-hosting! And Stuart Lotherington & Jerome Freytag leading the way from SBR.

Alan Morton shared thisReally excited about this upcoming event - great insight incoming on a key reality and shift that is taking place across wealth.Alan Morton shared thisThis International Women’s Day Special brings together four leaders shaping the future of women’s wealth: Rachael Smith (Evelyn Partners), Rebecca Williams (Rathbones), Alice Wright (Canaccord Wealth), and Katia Sand (SBR Consulting). Across this powerful conversation, the panel will unpack the seismic shift placing 60% of UK wealth in women’s hands, the confidence myths holding the industry back, the realities of client experience for women, and the responsibility wealth firms now carry to create journeys that feel personalised, empathetic, and genuinely equitable. They will explore defining data points, the behaviour shifts needed from advisers, the generational differences affecting women’s financial experiences, and the leadership gap still evident across wealth management. This will be an honest, energising and deeply human conversation, recorded especially for release on International Women’s Day. Achieving sales success is never just about one factor. Many organisations rely on assessments that only test what a candidate knows. However, genuine performance relies on three essential elements: skills, psychology, and behaviours. Our newest article explores why every recruitment or development strategy must address all three, and how this comprehensive approach forecasts real-world outcomes far more effectively than skills tests alone. What’s your perspective? Have you noticed shortcomings when assessments focus on just a single aspect? Read the article: https://lnkd.in/eiXhi-c8 #salesassessments #salesenablement #salesleadership

The pursuit of ROI on Training Investment can be an elusive task However, this Blog from KnowledgeCity is worth checking out .... https://lnkd.in/eVNfZE6a Overview: - Examples of valuable returns from training: - - Sales training that increases revenue - Leadership programs that reduce turnover - Compliance training that avoids legal penalties - Customer service training that improves satisfaction scores - Technical training that reduces downtime or errors The ROI Formula - ROI (%) Total Benefits minus Total Costs divided by Total Costs x 100. In short - £1000 spend delivers £1400 back in value But it's vital to factor in the hidden savings/extra margins when analysing how a bespoke Training provision creates tangible improvements on processes; disciplines; boosted confidence & motivation with increased commitment; greater positive influences on customers and retention of talent If you are putting a strategy together and/or planning your 2026 Training for Leadership and Team members' development - it would be a really good time investment to read the KnowledgeCity Blog and get in touch for an exploratory chat - info@dicksontraining.com

After such incredible feedback from the last one… we go again! The dream team! The girls at Fireheart Digital, Stacey Whitney and Stephanie Houghton-Johns , and I are back for another Sales & Marketing Training Day. And there’s a reason we keep bringing these two areas together. Marketing can create the opportunity, but what happens next determines whether it turns into business. That’s exactly what we’ll be tackling on the day. From generating the right opportunities, through to better conversations, stronger follow-up and ultimately converting more of those opportunities into customers. No sitting through hours of theory. Just practical ideas, real examples and actions you can take straight back into your business. 📅 Thursday 8 October 📍 The Base, Warrington ⏰ 10am – 4pm If you’re a business owner, salesperson or marketer and you know there are opportunities slipping through the cracks, this one is for you. See the original post below for all the details and booking link 👇 #SalesTraining #Marketing #SalesAndMarketing #BusinessGrowth #Warrington

Day 42 of 90 – Selling Isn’t Telling. There’s an old saying: We have two ears and one mouth for a reason. I once asked Sir Graham Kirkham, founder of DFS, what he believed was the single most important skill of a salesperson. His answer came without hesitation: Listening. Yet walk around plenty of furniture stores and you’ll hear salespeople doing the exact opposite. Customer sits on a sofa… And off we go. “This one’s hardwood framed…” “It comes in 47 fabrics…” “You can have fixed or reclining…” “There’s a matching chair…” “It’s available in leather…” “And we’ve got another one over here…” Stop. Selling isn’t telling. Before you start telling somebody everything you know about a product, find out what they actually need to know. “What’s the project?” “We’re replacing our old suite. We need something supportive because the one we’ve got is far too low.” Now we’ve learned something. “What do you mean by supportive?” “Higher back mainly. And I struggle getting out of ours.” Now we’re getting somewhere. “And what combination are you thinking of?” “Probably a three-seater and two chairs.” Perfect. Now you can recommend rather than recite. “In that case, let me show you this one. It’s higher-backed, the seat height will make it easier to get out of, and it comes in the combination you’re looking for.” That’s selling. The book puts it simply: Ask before you advise. The moment you stop telling and start learning, customers feel understood. Adam Hankinson, Selling Furniture_2R.pdf And listening doesn’t mean standing there waiting for your turn to speak. Listen to the words they use. Want. Need. Like. Love. Replay them. Confirm them. Then link your recommendation directly back to what they’ve told you. Adam Hankinson, Selling Furniture_2R.pdf You don’t need to demonstrate your product knowledge by unloading all of it onto the customer. Great product knowledge means knowing which 10% is relevant to the person standing in front of you. Try it today. Before giving your next piece of product information, ask yourself: “What have they told me that makes this relevant?” If you don’t know… Ask another question. Selling isn’t telling. It’s asking, listening, understanding and then recommending. #FurnitureRetail #FurnitureSales #SalesTraining #RetailSales #SalesSkills #ActiveListening #SalesPsychology #CustomerExperience #SalesCoaching #RetailLeadership #FurnitureStore #FurnitureIndustry #FurnitureSalesAcademy #FurnitureSalesSolutions #MoreSalesGuaranteed
