This can take lots of forms: outreach, marketing, referrals, organic search and so on LIKE People buy from people they like. This is about building rapport, offering value, being consultative and bringing your personality in TRUST People never buy from businesses and people they distrust. Building trust is nuanced and complex but can be supported with testimonials, client feedback, examples, case studies, delivering on promises, keeping to deadlines and so on

If you’re not listening to your customers, you’re building your business on guesswork. That’s a dangerous game to play. As a business coach in Essex and Suffolk, I recommend business owners not to assume they know what their customers want. You need to ask, listen, and adapt. Customer feedback isn’t just a “nice to have” or to look good on your testimonials page. It’s a strategic advantage. When used properly, feedback can: 🔹 Highlight what you’re doing well 🔹 Uncover blind spots or frustrations 🔹 Spark ideas for new products or services 🔹 Help you stay ahead of shifting demands 🔹 Build loyalty through genuine engagement. But how and when should you ask for feedback is just as important as the feedback itself. I would recommend you to conduct short, targeted surveys; follow-up emails or calls; ocial media polls or listening tools; review platforms or quick, honest conversations. Seek your customers' feedback: - After delivering a product or service - Midway through a long-term project - After customer support interactions - During product development - At regular intervals (monthly, quarterly, annually) The important message here is 'Don’t just gather feedback.'  Act on it. Make improvements to your business based on what they say. And don't forget to let your customers know what’s changed as a result of their comments. This shows them that you care and value their input. As a business coach, I’ve seen feedback-driven improvements lead directly to higher revenue, stronger client retention, and a better team culture. Why do unconventional minds need unconventional systems? In the latest episode of the Unconventional Business Podcast, I am joined by Josh Budd, founder of Neuro Notion, to discuss the often-overlooked challenges of living with ADHD,  in particular the critical need for better post-diagnosis support. Diagnosed at age 10, Josh shares a bit about his own ADHD journey and explains why traditional, "neurotypical" systems often fail those with ADHD. We dive into the philosophy behind his innovative platform, Neuro Notion, which is designed to be “frictionless” for overwhelmed ADHDers. Josh explains how the app allows its users to "brain dump" tasks verbally, which are then organised and prioritised in a way that works with the ADHD brain, not against it. We explore his call for better post-diagnosis guidance and a shift towards more inclusive, ADHD-centric systems in education and the workplace. This is a powerful conversation about reimagining productivity, embracing ADHD strengths, and creating solutions that don't just accommodate, but fundamentally celebrate neurodiversity.
