    I think vfs_cache_pressure only clears dentry and inode caches, and has nothing to do with buffer cache. Commented Aug 28, 2017 at 5:56

    Increasing vfs_cache_pressure above 100 may help in case you do not have enough RAM for your workload. It will reduce RAM usage but will cause poorer I/O performance overall. Commented Jan 17, 2018 at 11:05
