At Inspire 2026, Walmart Data Ventures brings its growing Scintilla community together to showcase what’s working today and unveil new capabilities shaping what comes next

Key Insights

  • Scintilla is evolving into a commerce intelligence platform, giving suppliers a more integrated view of their Walmart business.
  • AI-powered capabilities will help suppliers understand performance faster, surface opportunities and explore complex business questions using Walmart’s first-party data.
  • Scintilla will connect insights to action, helping suppliers address inventory, media and in-store opportunities more efficiently.

This week, more than 2,000 suppliers and Walmart merchants are gathering in Rogers, Arkansas, for Inspire, Walmart Data Ventures’ largest annual supplier event yet. Nearly 30 case studies from across the U.S., Mexico and Canada highlight how the Scintilla community is using insights to drive growth and business performance while keeping the customer at the center.

For years, the focus in retail has been on accessing more — and better — data. While quality data remains critical, more data alone isn’t enough. The opportunity now is to make that data work harder.

As Inspire kicked off today, Walmart Data Ventures shared how it plans to do just that: evolving Scintilla into a commerce intelligence platform that gives suppliers a more integrated view of their business, helps them understand what matters faster and makes it easier to take action.

Introducing a more integrated view

Scintilla is expanding visibility across more of the retail experience. Next year, Scintilla will give brands operating across both first-party and Marketplace models a more complete view of their Walmart.com business, bringing insights from their full assortment together in one place.

But greater visibility isn’t just about adding more data. It’s about connecting the signals that already exist. Launched in July, Scintilla Boards represents an important step in that direction, bringing insights across customer understanding, business performance and other areas into a more integrated experience. Customizable boards are also on the way, giving users greater flexibility to organize the metrics and insights most relevant to them and see the bigger picture in one place.

From insight to intelligence, faster

Once that information comes together, the next step is helping users understand what it means — faster. AI is already helping, highlighting what’s driving performance, surfacing important changes in how customers shop and summarizing customer research. Marty for Scintilla also helps users quickly understand metrics, features and capabilities directly within the platform.

Those capabilities will continue to grow more sophisticated. More personalized experiences and custom alerts will proactively surface the changes and opportunities that matter most to each user. And as Marty for Scintilla evolves, conversational AI grounded in Walmart’s first-party data will help users uncover what’s driving performance, explore complex business questions and create custom dashboards around the insights they want to monitor.

Nicole Ryner, Group Director, Business Strategy for Walmart Data Ventures, speaks with Walmart merchants about how Scintilla is changing the way they work.

Turning intelligence into action

Getting to the “so what” faster is only part of it. Once users know what needs attention, Scintilla will make it easier to act — whether that means replenishing inventory, launching a media campaign or getting product onto the shelf in the store.

Imagine logging into Scintilla and seeing that a key item is at risk of going out of stock in 50 stores. Instead of toggling between platforms, a user could move directly from Scintilla to the right replenishment system to get more inventory on the way — helping keep the item in stock and protect the sale.

Scintilla Insights Activation already connects Scintilla insights with Walmart Connect, helping users turn what they learn about their business into media campaigns. As Scintilla In-Store advances, AI-powered recommendations will extend that same idea into Walmart stores to help supplier field representatives quickly see what needs attention and take action right there in the store.

The broader vision is a more connected path from integrated visibility to intelligence to action. And the community gathered at Inspire this week is an important part of getting there. By bringing together quality data, powerful technology and human expertise, Scintilla can help Walmart and its suppliers unlock new opportunities for growth and create better experiences for customers.
