Worst Game on GameCube

Unfortunately, not all games can be good, but some turn out to be especially poor. These are the games that aren't forgotten as quickly as the many lackluster games that are published each season; these particularly bad games gain notoriety for being so remarkably flawed. They're not necessarily disappointing, since no one really expected much of them in the first place, but then again, no one could have been prepared for just how lousy these games turned out to be. It's a regrettable commendation, but even so, GameSpot now presents you with the Worst GameCube Game of the Year:

Jeremy McGrath Supercross World

Publisher: Acclaim
Developer: Acclaim

Had it not been for the release of MX Superfly on the GameCube, Nintendo console owners would have had Animal Crossing to look forward to as the best motocross title this year, with its inclusion of the Nintendo Entertainment System classic ExciteBike. Jeremy McGrath Supercross World, on the other hand, is not only the worst GameCube motocross game of the year, but the worst game for the system this year overall. Sometimes it seems as though game developers have gone out of their way to make a truly horrible game, while at other times it seems as though they just ran out of passion early on yet kept working on the project halfheartedly. Jeremy McGrath Supercross World is certainly an example of the latter and has only the following to offer: bland graphics, completely uninspired gameplay, embarrassing AI, and inexplicable physics. To make matters worse, it's just a shoddy port of a game that was originally released for the PlayStation 2, where it didn't fare any better. Here's our advice on Jeremy McGrath: Don't play this game.

Other Nominees:

Big Air Freestyle
Smashing Drive
Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly
