Shared experience: art and war – Australia, Britain and Canada in the Second World War
Shared experience: art and war is the first exhibition of its kind to compare how these three nations lived through and recorded one of the worst conflicts in human history. It includes works of art from some of the finest wartime artists from these three nations. The exhibition shows that for Australia, Britain and Canada the Second World War truly was a shared experience.
Created jointly by the Australian War Memorial, the Imperial War Museum, and the Canadian War Museum, this spectacular art exhibition depicts how the Second World War affected those who lived through it.
Shared experience is on display in the Australian War Memorial’s Special Exhibitions Gallery from 5 November 2005 to 26 February 2006.
Museum website survey
Would you like to take part
in an international survey
about museum websites? It takes about 10 to 15
minutes to complete.
The survey, created and administered by Florida State University, will
be used by the Australian War Memorial and other museums to improve our
websites by gaining a better understanding of the links between visiting
museums and visiting their websites.
