QA / Release Engineer

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze use cases and requirements to design testing
  • Defining and coordinating acceptance testing
  • Tracking project milestones
  • Bug tracking and reporting
  • Build and repository management
  • Code and environment promotion
  • Define and coordinate post launch monitoring

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience with test automation tools
  • Hands on experience with tomcat or other servlet container

Java Developer

Requirements:

Sr. Architect / Sr. Manager

Required Skills:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent. Masters Degree a plus
  • 8+ years experience developing software in a structured setting  
  • Expert level knowledge of Java, J2EE, web services and other distributed technologies and architectures
  • Strong familiarity in Spring Framework, Hibernate, JDO, Resin, Tomcat, Apache

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop technical and architectural aspects of new product features, such as newsletters, tracking, content delivery system, and security framework, to ensure consistency, quality and architectural integrity.
  • Review existing software architecture and identify areas for improvement in the areas of scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Design and implement frameworks, interfaces, and services to be used by a broad range of applications and development groups.
  • Provide strong customer advocacy within the product team in understanding and identifying requirements of new products.
  • Understand and champion customer use cases in the context of new feature deliverables and product strategy.
  • Research and evaluate technology alternative solutions to enhance our technical and product infrastructure.
  • Mentor the development team in the adoption and use of best practices and design patterns.

Oracle DBA

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer web production database in a 24X7 environment.
  • Optimize and monitor oracle instance performance.
  • Optimize and validate SQL and PL/SQL
  • Assist and guide in database design.
  • Function as both operation and development DBA.
  • Work and communicate cross functionally with Marketing, Sales and Product.
  • Responsible for backup and batch imports.
  • Produce reports and/or create scripts for Marketing and Sales.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years of solid Oracle DBA experience in 24X7 UNIX environment. 
  • Advanced performance tuning skills (instance and SQL).
  • Experience with building, installation, upgrade, and patching of Oracle.
  • Strong backup and recovery skills and experience with RMAN.
  • Oracle 9i or 10g experience on Linux platform.
  • Thorough knowledge of Oracle architecture.
  • Vi and UNIX shell scripting experience.
  • Experience with supporting and multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in SQL tuning writing cursors, triggers and complex queries.
  • Willingness to become familiar with all areas of the Military.com website.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • BA/BS. Advanced degree a plus.
  • Experience with web applications Tomcat, especially Vignette a plus.
  • Knowledge of JAVA, JSP, Servlets, Perl a plus.
  • Familiarity with Veritas, EMC, and strong UNIX plus.
  • Experience with open source (mySQL, etc.) or other RDBS a plus.

Front-End Web Engineer

Requirements:
  • Proficient knowledge of HTML
  • Proficient knowledge of JavaScript
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Solid communication skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Programming experience in TCL and Vignette is a plus
  • Knowledge of Oracle and MySQL is a plus
  • Portal or dot.com experience desirable
  • Must be enthusiastic and work well with others

Online Media Analyst

Responsibilities:

Media Buying:
  • Assist Online Media Manager with pre-planning research and related pre-campaign needs.
  • Interpret data and make intelligent recommendations and suggestions on media buys.
  • Proactively identify and analyze opportunities for improvement based on the data.
Trafficking Tracking
  • Track, measure and analyze the performance of multiple campaigns.
  • Set up and administer campaign tracking.
  • Monitor and QA creative tracking after campaign launches to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Work with host sites and/or internal technical contact to resolve any campaign set up or tracking issues.
  • Prepare weekly & monthly marketing reports using data pulled from internal and external resources.
Billing & Reconciliation
  • Reconcile media invoices and issue reconciliation documents.
  • Work with host sites to rectify any campaign billing issues.
  • Process site invoices and work with Accounts Payable to monitor payment progression.

Key Characteristics and Qualifications:

  • College degree required, marketing or communications major preferred
  • 1-2 years of online marketing; database marketing experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Enthusiastic team player, willing to "roll up your sleeves" to help team achieve goals

VP of Product Management

Essential Functions:
  • Develop and execute strategic plan for on-line product development and manage channel teams to deliver site enhancements, added-value to our member base, improved consumer metrics and quantitative targets based on consumer research, market analysis and competitive benchmarking.
  • Lead and manage product development process
  • Develop and lead teams to execute product roadmap
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to achieve usage, conversion, revenue and profit targets and grow product portfolio
  • Hire, mentor and manage product management teams members including marketing, product development, and technical professionals
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to achieve sales targets

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required, preferably from top-tier school, MBA a plus
  • Minimum 10 years progressive work experience.
  • 3+ years at a top ranked internet site is essential
