Cast your Net wider
BT Fusion gives you super-fast access to the internet from your mobile in all sorts of situations and places
Published: 03 March 2007
It would have been unimaginable 10 years ago that we'd all take our mobiles with us everywhere, but we do, whether we're 16 or 60. BT recognises this and has introduced BT Fusion to make mobile phones even more useful.
BT has done this by adding Wi-Fi to its range of BT Fusion handsets. This means you can talk for four minutes (and only use one of your inclusive minutes at home or in BT Openzone hotspots) and surf the internet at super-fast speeds - without the need for a computer.
YOU GET MORE WITH BT FUSION
With BT Fusion, customers choose a new Wi-Fi handset and the tariff that suits their needs. And it gets better still - customers signing up before the end of March get to surf the internet for free and at super-fast speeds (approximately five times faster than an ordinary mobile-phone internet connection).
BT Fusion works outside the home by connecting to the network of more than 2,000 BT Openzone hotspots currently in mainline train stations, airports, cafés, hotels and other places around the country. During 2007, BT will roll out the BT Wireless Cities programme, providing Wi-Fi access to broad swathes of 12 British cities. Westminster, Cardiff, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow will be online by the end of March.
LET BT FUSION KEEP YOU CONNECTED
Picture the following scenarios to see what a difference BT Fusion could make to your life. You're out and about looking for a new gourmet food shop reviewed in The Independent, but no one you ask in the street knows where it is. No problem - the café over the road is a BT Openzone hotspot, so you can use your mobile to surf the Net quickly to find the shop's phone number and address.
Or maybe you're shopping on Saturday afternoon and want to check the football results before you get home - no problem with BT Fusion. Perhaps you're planning to see an away game - just use BT Fusion to look for train times. Then again you could be cycling to work and your tyre gets a puncture, but you don't have a puncture kit on you. All you need to do is pull out your mobile and search the internet for a nearby cycle shop.
And if all those scenarios are not reason enough to switch to BT Fusion, how about the "4 for 1 minute" benefit? This means that customers can talk for four minutes while only using one minute from their tariff package while at home or in a BT Openzone hotspot.
Signing up for BT Fusion is easy, call 0800 783 2304 or log on to www.bt.com/btfusion to find out more. Do it before the end of March and you receive three months of free service.
