An article on 14 March 2007 might have suggested that Ratan Tata, chairman of Tata Group, or Tata Group itself, should bear some personal responsibility for the death of a young girl protester near a site intended for lease to Tata Motors. Such a suggestion would be untrue.

Antony Worrall Thompson (“Worrall Thompson comes clean on pub’s poor hygiene”, 3 March) has asked us to point out that, although he helped with the launch of the Angel Inn, Heytesbury, three years ago, he has never been involved with the management of the business or had any personal responsibility in relation to food hygiene there.

Samih Ahmed - an apology

In an article on13 August 2006 we stated that Samih Ahmed of Walthamstow, east London, had been arrested in connection with the alleged liquid bombs terrorist plot to blow up passenger aircraft. This was incorrect. We accept that Mr Ahmed has never been involved in any terrorist activity, nor has he ever been arrested or questioned in connection with any such matters. We apologise to him for distress and embarrassment suffered.
