JavaScript, DOM, and the Humble Form
So you've got a form on your Web page, and now you want JavaScript to interact with it. This tutorial outlines the various methods used when scripting forms, and explains the form Document Object Model in detail. Includes code examples of the two main methods with an emphasis on Web standards and best practices.
Document Text Replace
This script will find any instance of a chosen word and swap it out for another. Helps to keep your pages looking good. Very easy to use!
Hate IE
If your visitor is using Internet Explorer as their browser, this script will politely suggest Firefox as an alternative browser. Just add it to the head of your page. Very simple!
Include CSS Stylesheet by DOM
Use this script when you want to use the DOM to include a cascading style sheet. Very simple to implement.
SWFObject
This small JavaScript file is used for embedding Adobe Flash content. The script can detect the Flash plug-in in all major Web browsers (on Mac and PC) and is designed to make embedding Flash movies as easy as possible. It is also very search engine friendly, degrades gracefully, can be used in valid HTML and XHTML 1.0 documents, and is forward compatible, so it should work for years to come.
