1. Agreement and General Terms of Use
1.1 This User Agreement constitutes the agreement between Lexico Publishing Group, LLC ("Lexico") and you as a user who accesses or establishes a connection ("user," "you," or "your") to the world wide web site known as DICTIONARY.COM™ ("Site"), which is owned and controlled by Lexico.
1.2 You must agree to abide by all of the provisions in this Agreement in order to remain an authorized user of the Site and your use of the Site constitutes your agreement to abide by those provisions. 1.5 IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT OR ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE SITE, YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IS TO DISCONTINUE YOUR USE OF THE SITE.
2. User Activities and Information on the Site
2.1 You will use the Site and any content, material, or information found on the Site solely for lawful, non-commercial purposes. 5. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Lexico (and any of its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, agents, third party content providers, or licensors, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents) from and against all claims, liability, and expenses, including attorneys' fees and legal fees and costs, arising out of your use of the Site or your breach of any provision of this Agreement. Lexico reserves the right, in its sole discretion and at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you. You will cooperate as fully as reasonably required in the defense of any claim.
6. Fees and Payments
Lexico reserves the right, in its sole discretion, at any time to charge fees for access to and use of the Site, or any portions of the Site. If Lexico elects to charge fees, it will post notice on the Site of all provisions pertaining to fees and payments.
7. Notices between Us
You will contact us by submitting your message via this form. We will contact you by sending electronic mail to the address you provide to us, or by posting a notice on the Site.
8. Termination
Lexico may terminate this Agreement and your use of the Site at any time. Lexico shall have the right immediately to terminate your use of the Site in the event of any conduct by you which Lexico, in its sole discretion, considers to be unacceptable, or in the event of any breach by you of this Agreement.
9. Law Governing Performance and Disputes
This Agreement, your performance under it, and any disputes arising under it shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the United States of America and the State of California, without giving effect to their conflict of laws principles. You expressly consent to the exclusive forum, jurisdiction, and venue of the Courts of the State of California and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California in any and all actions, disputes, or controversies relating to this Agreement.
10. General Terms
This Agreement and any posted rules on the Site established by Lexico constitute the entire agreement of the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof. No waiver by either Lexico or you of any breach or default under this Agreement shall be deemed to be a waiver of any preceding or subsequent breach or default. This Agreement shall be binding upon and inure to the benefit of Lexico and its successors, trustees, and permitted assigns. Lexico may assign this Agreement, or any of its rights or obligations under this Agreement, with or without notice to you.

This is the Jargon File, a comprehensive compendium of hacker slang

These Dictionary topics are from M.G. Easton M.A., D.D., Illustrated
Bible Dictionary, Third Edition, published by Thomas Nelson, 1897. Due
to the nature of etext, the illustrated portion of the Dictionary have
not been included.
The current format has been designed for programatic reference, placing
50 topics in a file, preceeding each topic with $$topic_number,
surrounding the topic name with back-slashes, References to other topics
are prefixed with a � (ascii 175) double arrow followed by the 8 byte
topic number. It should be noted that it is possible to have the topic
prefix followed by "(n/a)". This is due to a very small number of topic
references which were unable to be resolved. These topics are:
Laadan, Land Laws, Vashni.
These topics are not listed in the printed edition and it is not
apparent what Mr. Eastone intended. The verse references have not been
marked up or tagged for program usage. It is hoped someone will do this
work and make the resulting files available to the person(s) below.
