MANGINA

Hedge Fun

It feels like its been forever (real time: two years) since the SAC Capital female hormone case, doesnt it? For those of you who shamefully forget (or never heard about it in the first place, wtf?), back in the fall of 2007, a former employee of the hedge fund, Andrew Tong, alleged that his boss, portfolio manager Ping Jiang, had forced him to take female hormone pills as part of a slightly unorthodox philosophy of Jiangs that male traders needed to be more like women (not as aggressive, etc) in order to maximize returns.

And now, the rest of the story.

GAMING

Zelda Reorchestrated

Six years ago, an eager 14 year old had the idea of remaking all of the songs from the hit video game series "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" to sound like they were being played by live musicians. He took his idea, and three demo songs to a few web forums and a few music professionals. The feedback was clear: the idea was original, but quite a daunting task.

Cubicle of Solitude

After months and months of planning, constructing, and wiring, I'm happy to report my Fortress of Solitude desk/cubicle modification is complete. Took almost 2 full days to get all the paper crystals rolled up, taped, and mounted. Since there were 3 different sizes of acrylic crystal I had to roll with a different template every time. Took much longer than I thought.
