The third installment in the FIFA Street series is on schedule for release at the end of February and promises to feature even more crazy moves and tricks than ever before, but if you can’t wait till then, there’s news that the demo is now available for download via the XBOX live marketplace.

The arcade style, fast-paced football experience will feature 250 caricature-styled players representing 18 International teams. From the likes of Ronaldo to Peter Crouch each player will have their own distinctive style and abilities. Players will once again fit into different characters, so you’ll need to choose from the likes of Tricksters, Enforcers, Playmakers and Finishers to create your strongest team.

The engine used to power FIFA Street has been taken from NBA Street Homecourt, whereas the AI comes from FIFA 08. Fill up your all-new Game Breaker to power your ultimate abilities and express yourself like never before. Maneuver your players to leap past defenders, flip off walls, or perform gravity-defying one-timers to score spectacular goals.

From the urban playgrounds of South America to the rooftops in Asia to the streets of Europe, your players perform to an eclectic selection of music seamlessly infused into the surroundings, where the game’s environments pulsate, and explode to life with every well-timed tackle, outrageous trick move or unstoppable shot on goal.

FIFA 09 PC Next-Gen?

January 9, 2008

We can read this on FIFA4Fans.com:

“We have the first official information of FIFA 09. In a games 2008 preview the German games magazine GameStar (02/2008) has written a small text about the new EA Sports games:

In 2008 there will be new versions of the big EA-Sports series again, that means NBA Live 09, Madden NFL 09, FIFA 09 & Co. There aren’t available lots of details up to now, but the developpers have announced that the PC versions will get the technic of the much more beautiful console versions – finally! The original licences of the leagues will be included again, too.

With other words: FIFA 09 will use the NextGen technic on the PC, too!
Great news, I think!”

Just as it did in 2007, EA’s latest FIFA title is top of the chart for the first week of the year.

Having missed out on Christmas No.1, despite publishing pre-race favourite Need for Speed: ProStreet, EA finally has something to celebrate with FIFA 08 claiming the first All Formats No.1 of 2008.

Assassin’s Creed falls three places to No.4 thanks to a 70% dive in sales, but the game isn’t alone with every title in the Top 40 seeing a sales slump. Call of Duty 4 (down 56%) climbs to No.2 and The Simpsons Game (down 58%) also rises one place to No.3. With only a smattering of releases coming on Friday, don’t expect much to change in next week’s chart.
