Participants must have a valid Reddit account to sign up with Redditgifts. To sign up for an exchange, the account needs to have been created before the announcement of sign ups.

After signing up, you will be randomly matched with another Redditor. You are not matched in pairs. You do not receive information about the person sending to you.

Your exchanges screen (http://redditgifts.com/in/) features a parcel icon that represents the gift you can expect. The dates indicate when the information was most recently retrieved. This may change throughout depending on how often your Santa looks at your info. When the present is shipped, the icon will turn green and the date underneath will represent the date of shipping.

You are given the option to ship internationally. it is not required.

Be prepared to fill out a customs form if shipping internationally. Some forms require a phone number of the recipient. you can send an anonymous message through redditgifts to ask for this. Placing a high value on the form can cause your giftee to pay a fee when picking it up. Try to avoid this.

Do not wrap the box. Follow you local post's directions.

Do not send items that will be flagged by customs. You can usually find a list on a country's embassy page.

You will receive increasingly irritated reminder emails. If you are very late, your giftee may mark the gift unreceived causing you to be banned. Try not to be late. If you are, it is considered polite to send an anonymous message alerting your giftee so they know they are not forgotten.

When you confirm your gift on Redditgifts we will send an email to your Santa. Likewise, you will receive one when your giftee confirms.

Rematching takes place when a person does not receive a gift. That person receives a new Santa to replace the Bad Santa. Rematching dates are based on when your gift was sent or if it was not marked shipped at all. It takes several weeks after the shipping date to begin this.

It is entirely reliant on people signing up to be Second Santas. We do not guarantee that rematching will take place or that everyone will be rematched.
