JavaScript.com: The Definitive JavaScript Resource
This is a JavaScript class, based on .NET's XMLTextWriter. This is not a port, but a reduced and adapted version. It allows you to easily generate XML. The script is heavily commented for complete understanding.
Many browsers allow the XMLHTTPRequest object to be created directly. One method is to use this snippet. It tries all methods of creating the object until it discovers one that works.
Get a random background color with the touch of a button. This script uses 15 pre-determined background colors and then randomly chooses one. This is a great effect if you know what background colors don't interfere with the text on your page. Then, you can make them the 15 pre-determined background colors.
This script alternately "flips" and "flops" between two images, with adjustable smoothness, speed and pauses. It may be useful as an alternative to a crossfade.
Highlight new content or special items on your site for a specified amount of time. This script will display a "new" icon and highlight the header of the content until the date you set has expired. (You could also use it to highlight the content itself.) Adapted from "New Links" by Nicolas.
