King George Central was the first and only new Brisbane CBD business tower to commence construction during a financially challenging 2009. This project will redefine the way buildings should be designed, built and enjoyed. King George Central will be Brisbane’s healthiest landmark thanks to 21st Century technology and design innovation that will create a unique work environment.
King George Central is the first building in Australia to be publicly endorsed by the Heart Foundation, and will feature user-friendly staircases to all floors from the ground up, a bike fleet and a healthy choice café. At 27 storeys, the 28,000m2 building will offer A-grade office accommodation in surroundings designed according to the Heart Foundation’s Healthy by Design features.

Upon completion, King George Central will be a landmark project that will revitalise the inner city precinct and set a new benchmark in environmental leadership. Registered for a Green Star – Office Design rating and targeting a 6 Star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, a 4 Star NABERS water rating and a 5 Star NABERS energy rating through a range of environmentally sensitive strategies, King George Central is a genuinely green building.
With contemporary facade shading to reduce heating and cooling loads, rainwater collection and re-use, energy efficient onsite co-generation to reduce emissions and reduced toxicity of interior finishes, King George Central will prove that environmentally sustainable design delivers a healthy bottom line.
