Watch Pink’s New Video for “Just Give Me a Reason”

Feb 6, 2013 @ 10:42 am

Pink just released the video for her new love ballad, and we’re in love. “Just Give Me a Reason” features the pop singer begging for reassurance in her relationship, and she gets it, thanks to the two men who star with her—Fun.’s Nate Ruess, who sings with her on the track, and real-life husband Carey Hart, who shares a bed with her in the steamy video. The inspiration? Her life. “The truth sets me free on my albums,” the singer told InStyle for our October issue. “I find the characters in my life story are more open to criticism if it comes with a melody.” And if the song’s lyrics hit home, it’s because it brings to life the title of her latest album, The Truth Above Love. “I always tell the truth about how I feel,” she said. “I find it’s better to get it all out before it turns into something else.” Watch the video above and let us know what you think!

David Beckham Running in His H&M Boxer Briefs: A Video Worth Worth Watching

Feb 6, 2013 @ 9:22 am

Victoria Beckham, you’ve got quite a man! Soccer star David Beckham launched his collection of bodywear for H&M a year ago, and for his first anniversary, he’s promoting his new lineup in an action-packed way—a video of him running through the streets of Beverly Hills wearing only his skimpy army green boxer briefs and a pair of flimsy white slippers. The short, directed by fellow Brit Guy Ritchie, offers plenty of great moments, such as shots of his sculpted backside in tiny, tiny shorts, close-ups of his adorable smirk, and zoom-ins of his chiseled abs. (Is it hot in here?) “Working with Guy has been a fantastic experience,” Beckham said in a statement. “I hope everyone has as much fun watching the film as I had making it.” Watch the video above, and then check out the new offering at hm.com, and available in stores now.

Alexander Skarsgard Takes His Sexy Vampire Stare to Calvin Klein

Feb 5, 2013 @ 4:42 pm

There’s nothing like seeing Alexander Skarsgard move in slow motion while wearing dapper slim-cut suits to brighten up your day! The True Blood actor stars in the new video for Calvin Klein’s collection, named Provocations (watch it above). The Fabien Baron-directed clip hints at some kind of elusive seduction and danger, as it depicts Skarsgard and Finnish model Suvi Koponen in looks from the collection—think lots of tailored black-and-white and fitted denim—rolling down dirt hills and walking entirely too close to explosive bursts of flame. “The characters that you get to dive into are so different,” Skarsgard had told InStyle.com of acting for CK (his first video for the label debuted last September). “You always get to explore a different side of your personality, and I learn a lot about myself that way.” Watch the clip above, and see a longer, 10-minute version at youtube.com/calvinklein.

Girls Star Christopher Abbott (a.k.a. “Charlie”) Works It for Free People

Feb 5, 2013 @ 4:26 pm

Poor Charlie! The Girls character, sweetly played by Christopher Abbott, has been pretty unlucky in love so far, with Allison Williams’s Marnie showing no love for the sensitive guy. Thankfully, boho fashion brand Free People gave him a gig where he can show off his game! The actor is the star of the brand’s new fashion web series, where he gets to romance model Sheila Marquez with flowers and “roshambo” (or rock-paper-scissors) while she wears cozy jackets and tees from the brand’s spring 2013 collection. Watch the video above to see this season’s billowy blouses and lacy lingerie for the ladies, and shop it all in stores and on freepeople.com.

Smash Season 2 Premieres! What “Director Derek Wills” Thinks

Feb 5, 2013 @ 1:34 pm

Smash is back and it’s going to be better than ever! The television series about what it takes to make it on Broadway returns for it’s second season tonight, and with the new season comes a chance for everyone on the Bombshell team to reinvent themselves—including Jack Davenport’s lovably ornery director, Derek Wills. “Aspects of Derek’s personality kind of come back to haunt him quite significantly, which is probably no bad thing—growth has to come somewhere,” the actor told InStyle.com at the premiere of the Donna Karan short “Haven’t We Met Before,” which he starred in and his Smash co-star Anjelica Huston directed. But that doesn’t mean everything has changed: “The unique selling point of our show is that there aren’t any other shows on television about Broadway out there, so we kind of doubled down on that. The drama is very much contained within the work place in a way that it wasn’t quite so much last year. There are more songs—more of the things that only we have.” More of the things we love—not to mention a few new things, like guest stars Jennifer Hudson and Broadway’s Jeremy Jordan. Tune in to NBC at 9 pm. EST tonight to watch Smash 2.0. Break a leg, everyone!

How NBC’s Smash Is Involved in Donna Karan’s Leggy New Video

Feb 4, 2013 @ 4:29 pm

Jack Davenport and Anjelica Huston don’t just play friends on NBC’s Smash, they’re real friends in real life. That’s why Huston called upon her pal to star in Haven’t We Met Before, the new short film she directed for Donna Karan’s Evolution hosiery collection, and together they debuted the result at Donna Karan‘s Urban Zen store in the West Village over the weekend. “If she says jump, I’ll say how high?” Davenport told InStyle.com of how he got involved with the film, which he had agreed to after Huston asked him on the set of Smash. “It’s always nice to work with someone you work with in one capacity, and see them working in another one. It was as lovely as I expected it to be.” For the film, which you can watch above, Huston focused on the sensuality of the legs—it is for hosiery, after all!—casting Felicity Jones as the love interest to Davenport. “She’s so easy, beautiful, easy, the perfect girl,” Huston added. As for her Smash buddy Jack? “He’s a particularly handsome one and talented one, so it seemed like looking a gift horse in the mouth, as it were,” she said. “Not that I would ever refer to him as a horse,” she joked.

Before the Baltimore Ravens took the lead ahead of the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl XLVIIJennifer Hudson took to the mic in a black leather Monika Chiang turtleneck bodysuit and white L’Wren Scott pencil skirt. A crowd of more than 72,000 people inside the Superdome (and millions more watching live from their Super Bowl parties) watched on as Hudson and the choir, all donning green ribbons to honor those lost in the tragic school shooting that took place in early December, sang one of our country’s most beloved patriotic songs. Watch their moving performance above!

Super Bowl 2013: Watch Alicia Keys Sing the National Anthem

Feb 3, 2013 @ 7:33 pm

While Super Bowl XLVII is still underway in the Superdome, “Girl on Fire“ Alicia Keys helped open the game with her own patriotic pride. She performed a soulful rendition of the National Anthem seated at a gray piano to provide her own accompaniment. The star wore a full-length red Azzedine Alaïa dress while she sang “The Star-Spangled Banner,” choosing gold Marina B jewelry and black platform heels as her accessories. She performed the iconic song in a way only she could: at a slow tempo with plenty of New Orleans jazz-inspired sultriness, and enough soul to bring even the toughest football players to tears on the sidelines.  Watch her belt out the song live above!
