Oscars 2012 Makeup: How to Get Michelle Williams’s Peony Pink Lipstick

Best Actress nominee Michelle Williams paired her burnt orange Louis Vuitton dress with a perfect peony-toned lipstick. “My inspiration was a flower!” Chanel makeup artist Angela Levin told us of creating Williams’s look. “Michelle looked so gorgeous and delicate in her dress, it made me think of a rose I have in my garden in that very same color.” Levin blended Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Paradis, a French rose color, and Destinee, an amaranth tone, together to create the unique lipstick shade. “She was like a flower in a beautiful garden,” Levin adds. Estée Lauder to Launch Mad Men Beauty Products

Estée Lauder just announced it will release a limited-edition Mad Men collection, so now you can mimic the show’s retro makeup, whether you’re a Joan, Peggy, or Betty. The line includes a vivid red lipstick ($25), and a petal pink creme rouge ($40), both wrapped in Estée Lauder’s classic ‘60s packaging. The Mad Men collection will be available at Bloomingdale’s and esteelauder.com starting March 18th, just in time for the show’s fifth season premiere, March 25th at 9/8c on AMC. Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin for MAC: Now Available

Makeup giant MAC enlisted pop stars Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin to create new lip products for its Viva Glam campaign—like Fergie and Lady Gaga did in the past—and the items just hit shelves today. Minaj appropriately released a bright Barbie pink ($14.50), while Martin created a clear lip balm ($15). All proceeds benefit the MAC AIDS Fund, which supports people living with HIV and AIDS. The cause hits close to home for Minaj, whose uncle passed away from an AIDS-related illness. “I have such a young fan base, and I want them to be aware of this issue now because I love them so much,” the rapper told Good Morning America. Yves Saint Laurent’s new Vernis à Lèvres liquid lipstick just launched stateside, and it’s quickly becoming one of the most sought-after new beauty products. The lipgloss-lipstick-lipstain hybrid is popular because it imparts an intense color with a mirror-like shine on pretty pouts. Since the product’s January 17th release on sephora.com, five colors have completely sold out, WWD reports. Luckily, a few shades, including Rose Gouache and Rose Vinyl (pictured) are still available for $32 each online. If you don’t see your favorite color, you’ll have to wait until April, when the product rolls into stores nationwide.
