Fashion Star Episode 3: See the Winning Looks (And Our Top Pick)

Mar 28, 2012 @ 4:00 pm

Did you watch Fashion Star last night? Of the designs that won bids from H&M, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue, our favorite was this pair of high-waisted floral shorts by Ross Bennett. The style caused a bit of a bidding war, and Macy’s walked away with the spring-ready design for $120,000. “Love the @TheRBCollection shorts in pink paired with my @JSCollection Fawana Platforms!!” Jessica Simpson tweeted. Shop the look in floral print, pink, and green gingham for $59 at macys.com, and click through the gallery to see all of last night’s winning designs!

Mad Men Season Five Fashion: Secrets from the Set

Mar 26, 2012 @ 5:50 pm

A new season of Mad Men premiered last night, and we caught up with the show’s costume designer Janie Bryant to get the inside scoop on the fabulous retro fashions seen on the ladies of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. One of our favorite looks: the flirty pink dress Joan Harris (Christina Hendricks) wore on her first day back to the office. “That look is all about her feeling beautiful, showing the office that everything is going great, and having that façade of ‘life is fantastic,’” Bryant said of the original design. Click through the gallery for Bryant’s take on more of last night’s looks, and catch the next episode of Mad Men Sunday, April 1st at 9/8c on AMC.

Mar 23, 2012 @ 6:20 pm

Yesterday we shared a sneak peek of AnnaSophia Robb on the set of The Carrie Diaries, and today the CW released the first official photo of the actress in full-on ’80s fashion as the young Carrie Bradshaw. Not only does Robb’s wavy blond ‘do remind us of Sarah Jessica Parker‘s signature look, she’s also wearing a tutu with heels—a similar style to the outfit Parker works in the opening credits of Sex and the City “WE ARE EXCITED,” The Carrie Diaries‘ costume designer Eric Daman tweeted in response to Robb’s official Carrie Bradshaw debut. Fun fact: Daman also works his fashion magic on the set of Gossip Girl. We can’t wait to see more of AnnaSophia’s Carrie outifts!
