Katy Perry got a G.I. Jane makeover for her new video “Part of Me”! Gone are her quirky costumes, blue hair, exaggerated eye makeup, and pin-up look, replaced instead with fatigues, combat boots, a makeup-free face, and a hacked-off dark brown bob for her Marines-inspired video. “This song feels like one of the most aggressive songs I’ve ever put out,” she told MTV. “It’s kind of an affirmation of strength. So I wanted to go the strongest route I possibly could.” She ventured to San Diego’s Camp Pendleton Marine base to shoot over three days, got real training, used real Marines as co-stars (no actors!), and worked with real equipment. “I just wanted to really go for it,” she continued. “I want to prove my strength.” So while her “throw your bombs and your blows” lyrics tout her unbreakable soul—in this video, she sets out to prove just how indestructible she really is. The final installment of The Twilight Saga isn’t due out until November, but the studio is already drumming up interest! The Twilight Facebook page—which boasts more than 31 million fans—posted a 15-second teaser to the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Trailer this morning. The blink-and-you’ll-miss-it clip features just-turned vampire Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) navigating the forests of Forks, Washington at superhuman speed (wearing her heirloom engagement ring, of course). The full trailer debuts Monday morning on Facebook—we can’t wait!

Charlize Theron stopped by the Today show this morning with her Snow White and the Huntsman co-star Kristen Stewart, where the Oscar-winner chatted with Matt Lauer about her newly-adopted son, Jackson. “It’s going amazing,” the actress said of being a new mom. “He’s scrumptious and delicious. Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge gave her first public address today—nearly a year after she married Prince William—at EACH’s Treehouse Children’s Hospice in Ipswich, England, an organization that supports children with life-threatening conditions and their families. She began her speech by thanking the crowd and giving a nod to her royal man, who she said would have loved the facility. “A view of his, that I share, is that through teamwork so much can be achieved,” she said. “What you have all achieved here is extraordinary.” For her wardrobe choice, she gravitated toward one of her go-to colors, sapphire blue (it matches her ring), and chose double-breasted dress by Reiss. And it looks like she pulled this one out of her mother’s closet—according to Kate Middleton Style, the dress dates back to 2008, and it was a piece her mother first wore to the Royal Ascot in 2010. Watch her entire speech above, and tell us what you think in the comments!

If you were watching television last night at 9pm, you may have seen Cartier’s 3-minute L’Odyssée and thought “That’s gorgeous, but what’s going on here?” The mesmerizing mini-epic advertisement follows a panther around the globe as it encounters elements of Cartier’s history depicted in a surreal style.  It took two years to produce, features an original score, jaw-dropping special effects, and three panthers—Cali, Tiga and Damou—filling the leading role of the firm’s mascot.
