Fibonacci sequence: 'Touch' numbers explained

If you've read "The DaVinci Code," you may be familiar with the Fibonacci sequence. If you're watching "Touch," you're surely getting a sense that it's important. So what is it? Let us give you a course in the magical pattern of numbers.
Okay, it's not really magical, but it certainly is uncanny. The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers that first appeared in a book by Leonardo of Pisa in 1202. Basically this is the gist: The sequence starts with 0. Then 1. Then you add each of the numbers to the next. So, 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, and on and on forever.
Okay, fine. So math. Great. The cool part of it
is that the sequence appears everywhere in nature. In the breeding of bees,
branching in trees, how leaves are arranged on a stem, pineapples,
artichoke flowers, an uncurling fern and pine cones.
People have also attributed mystical powers to the sequence. On "Touch," it's assigned to the young boy Jake (David Mazouz) and his ability to finds links in events through numbers.
