LEGO Human Torch Confirmed For Marvel Super Heroes Game

Human Torch

FBTB Fan Ben Doney attended the MCM Expo/London Comic Con this past weekend and attended a presentation held by TT Games producer Phil Ring. At the presentation, Phil has confirmed that Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch will be a playable character in the upcoming LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game. Now see, why couldn’t THAT be the promotional figure instead of Iron Patriot? Venom is also confirmed a villain character.

Amazon Discounts 75002 AT-RT

Both Amazon and Target have discounted the excellent 75002 AT-RT down to $16.15, down from $19.99 MSRP. It’s a penny less at Amazon. Target offers free shipping on the item; REDCard holders will also see an additional 5% off. Amazon has free shipping if you’re a Prime member, but let’s be real here, epic ground battles played out on your living room floor require more than one walker to stomp around, so you can’t just order one now can you? Order 2 to hit free shipping if you’re not a Prime member.

I would have done a fourth post for the Desert Skiff set, but Amazon raised its price on that set back up to $18.19. Target still has it listed for $16.15 but in store only.

New Star Wars Cartoon: Rebels

Yep, a new cartoon is in the works. It’s called Rebels and it’s set in the period between the events of Episode III and IV. I approach this news with cautious optimism. I never got into the Clone Wars cartoon series, I’m only familiar with the LEGO product tie-in and man did I hate those sets. The minifigs were ugly, which to this day I still cannot reconcile in my head the logic behind the decision on why they look so radically different from every other Star Wars minifigures. It’s all Star Wars isn’t it? Anyways, the same Art Director behind the Clone Wars is also going to be involved with this new venture, so there’s a slight chance that, stylistically speaking, Rebels will look and feel the same as the Clone Wars which can be good or bad depending on how you felt about it. All I know is that this will give us LEGO fans new sets to look forward to. I just hope the minifigs look normal and not some freaky eyed abominations.

If you’re attending Star Wars Celebration Europe, you’ll have the chance to be one of the first people to see its debut. Otherwise, look for it on Disney Channel sometime in 2014 with a series to air on Disney XD.

Thanks to Jared for the heads up.
