The Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts (SAPA) was started in
November 2007 in Bangalore. This global institute for the performing
arts is the brainchild of India's foremost violinist, Dr. L.
Subramaniam. It has been his dream to have an international institute in
India that imparts high quality education in the areas of music, dance,
and other performing arts.
The academy's vision is to identify, nurture, train and mentor those who
want to pursue a career in the various performing arts, or those who
pursue an art form for the sake of personal joy and satisfaction.
SaPa focuses on special teaching methods for children, to help them
discover the enjoyment of art, and develop a deep love for artistic
endeavors. It organises special workshops and interactive sessions with
creative personalities from all walks of life, from world famous blues
musicians to instrument makers and encourages its students to understand
and explore various artistic possibilities.
SaPa is headed by Bindu Subramaniam and is based in Sanjaynagar, Bangalore.
