Compound Photonics is up to the challenge.
So far attempts to integrate small handheld devices into this new world have fallen short. Images weren’t bright enough. Low resolution imagers couldn’t stand up to the demands of a high definition world. And, the form-factors have been just too big.
But that is about to change.
Compound Photonics is building the world’s smallest, native 1920x1080, full high definition laser projection light engine. It brings more than 2 million pixels to life with with greater than three times the brightness of competing technologies.

The Compound Photonics team has a passion for the relentless pursuit of digital display image integrity. It’s in our DNA. We have an extensive IP portfolio in liquid crystal assembly processes, laser design & fabrication, optical component design, digital backplanes and video processing architectures.


From sand to systems and lasers to lenses we do it all.
We are the only vertically integrated microdisplay manufacturer. By controlling the end-to-end process, we meet exacting demands for performance and quality, keep costs low and simplify the supply chain.
We develop and manufacture the complete light engine. Liquid crystal display, thin films, lasers and optics are designed, developed and manufactured at our 40,000 ft2 semiconductor processing facility in Phoenix.
