The spring semester of the year 1990, was a period of rapid and enriching growth for the founders of Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority, Inc. The spark that started the fire was the salvation of one of the founders, Tyesha Elam. This event was a result of the joint effort of the three remaining founders: Amanda Tezeno- Broussard, Dawn Walton-Eberhart, and Terra Delaney-O’Brien. Thus, the rebirth of one of the founders indirectly resulted in the birth of Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority, Inc.
The date was March 23, 1990. Through an abundance of brainstorming and divine revelation, the group came up with the name of the organization, its mascot, the colors, the purpose, and the motto. The group knew this was something the Lord wanted them to do, because in the book of Matthew 18:20 it states
“Where two or more are gathering in my name, there I am in the midst of them”.
Thus, stepping out on faith to do the will of the Lord, led to the establishment of Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority, Inc.
On April 9, 1990 Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority, Inc. was approved as a registered student organization. The first charter line consisted of nine ladies during the spring of 1991. By the spring of 1992 and new chapter was charted at Prairie View A & M University. The organization has been growing ever since. Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority, Inc. Omega charted at Texas A & M University in the fall of 1994 and in the fall of 1997, a new chapter was chartered at Sam Houston State University.
The women of Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority, Inc. are committed to uplifting the name of the Lord through fellowship with others, community service and discipleship. Through commitment and prayer, the organization will continue to grow for many years to come. Except, of course, the rapture should occur and all members are taken up to reign with the Father throughout eternity.
Grace and peace from God the Father and Jesus Christ our Savior.
Amen.
“…for the faith
of God’s elect and the knowledge of the truth that leads to
Godliness- faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life,
which God does not lie, promised before the beginning of
time…”
