Welcome!

I have been at the Department of Economics at Simon Fraser University since 1995. Before that I was a faculty member at the University of Alberta (1986-1995) and Yale University (1980-1986). My Ph.D. in economics is from the University of Michigan (1981).

My current research is in the field of economic prehistory. Other interests include labor-managed firms, microeconomic theory, and institutions.
