Excerpt

Mobile devices are changing the way we interact with the web, both as media consumers and social beings. We will explore the opportunities and challenges this change brings to users with disabilities.

Description

Making the web accessible has been an uphill battle in the past as browsers picked up more features and websites became increasingly dynamic and complex. Today, mobile devices are changing the way we interact with the web, both as media consumers and social beings. The user is demanding what users with disabilities required all along – a web that is could be easily accessed without a mouse and keyboard, without a large screen, and with few distractions.

How is this being done today? How is it done right? What has been done wrong? What bright future could we all look forward to? Demos!!!

Speaking experience

Have given workshops and presentations about accessibility and universal design, including at last year's Open Source Bridge and at GUADEC 2010.
